Aussie electronic project Crooked Colours returns in 2026 with new album Dirt Road Gold, out Friday 21 August.

This is the first album from Crooked Colours since the departures of Leon Debaughn and Liam Merrett-Park in 2023, with Philip Leonard Slabber taking sole control of the outfit.

“MY NEW ALBUM ‘DIRT ROAD GOLD’ IS OUT AUGUST 21ST AND I’M TOURING AUSTRALIA TO CELEBRATE!!” Slabber announced on Instagram.

Crooked Colours have shared several singles from the album, including ‘Pink Limo’, ‘I Can’t Forget You’, ‘Come Thru’ and the just-released ‘Oxford’, a giddy ambient dose of electro.

Hitting the road across October and November, Crooked Colours get things underway in Fremantle on Friday 16 October at Freo.Social. Dates follow at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Friday 23 October, Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Saturday 24 October, Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Friday 30 October and Brisbane’s The Triffid on Saturday 31 October, with the final gig at Byron Bay’s The Northern on Sunday 1 November.

Pre-sale kicks off 10am AEST Friday 5 June here.

Crooked Colours originally consisted of singer, songwriter and producer Philip Leonard Slabber alongside fellow producer Leon Debaughn and drummer Liam Merrett-Park.

Together for close to a decade, the trio have released three albums – Vera (2017), Langata (2019) and Tomorrows (2022) – and garnered more than 500 million streams across all platforms.

The release of Dirt Gold Road signals a new era for Crooked Colours as Slabber takes the project into uncharted territory as a solo artist.

Catch Crooked Colours performing at Lion Arts Factory on Friday 30 October. Ticketing information is available here.
