Fresh from the release of their latest single ‘How Does It Feel To Be In Love?’, The Lazy Eyes have announced a 10-date Australian tour.
Going back to basics, The Lazy Eyes are embarking on a national tour across September and October in support of their upcoming sophomore album, Cheesy Love Songs, which drops Friday 21 August via AWAL.
Fans can expect to hear songs from the release, including the singles ‘Ballerina’, ‘The One Who Got Away’ and the just-released ‘How Does It Feel To Be In Love?’, along with tracks from their acclaimed debut album, SongBook.
Speaking about their latest single, which takes influence from Coldplay and Brian Wilson, songwriter Itay Shachar shares, “For me, this song is one of the main pillars of the album in terms of its message. It asks a very simple question but which is almost impossible to answer, or that everyone could answer differently. I really like that open-ended nature. Sometimes I don't know how it feels to be in love but I miss the times when I think I have been and I guess the song also has a yearning quality to it for that reason.”
The Lazy Eyes Cheesy Love Songs Tour kicks off in Queensland with gigs at Brisbane’s Crowbar on Friday 18 September and Mo’s Desert Clubhouse on the Gold Coast on Saturday 19 September. The quartet then plays The Night Cat in Melbourne on Thursday 24 September, followed by The Sound Doctor in Anglesea on Friday 25 September, Jive in Adelaide on Friday 2 October, Mojo’s in Fremantle on Saturday 3 October and Canberra’s Fun Time Pony on Friday 9 October. The Lazy Eyes wrap things up with three concerts in New South Wales at Wollongong’s La La La’s on Saturday 10 October, Sydney’s The Factory on Friday 16 October and Newcastle’s The Stag & Hunter on Saturday 17 October.
Tickets for all shows go on sale at 10am AEST on Friday 29 May via thelazyeyes.com.

The Lazy Eyes’ Cheesy Love Songs is a mix of minimalistic ‘60s era pop production, ear-friendly instrumentation and heartwarming lyrics about the highs and lows of being in love.
Speaking about the album, vocalist and guitarist Harvey Geraghty reveals Cheesy Love Songs “explore[s] our softer, love song side” and is inspired by ‘60s icons like The Kinks and The Beatles as much as it does modern artists like The Strokes.
