ARIA Award-winning Gamilaraay artist Thelma Plum is going back to basics with her upcoming I Don’t Play That Song Anymore Tour.
Marking her first-ever national acoustic tour, Plum is dusting off her songbook and acoustic guitar, excited to take audiences on a journey through her stacked catalogue.
The unplugged gigs take place in intimate settings across the nation, with Plum playing a career-spanning set that includes songs from her sophomore release, I’m Sorry, Now Say It Back, along with revisiting all of her biggest hits.
“I actually can’t believe that this is the first time I’ve done an acoustic tour,” says Plum. “When I started out playing shows it was just me and a guitar, but it’s been a long time since I’ve performed like that. It’s been a big year. I am working on a new record, and it feels like the perfect time to pack up the songbook and play some intimate shows with my friend Toby and let the songs and the stories behind them breathe! I hope to see you at one of the shows!”
Returning to stages after selling out shows nationwide last year, Plum’s tour kicks off in Bendigo on Thursday 9 July. Dates follow in Horsham, Geelong, Warrnambool, Avoca Beach, Kalgoorlie, Bunbury, Albany, Bellingen, Eltham, Gold Coast, Eumundi and Devonport, with the final show at the Theatre Royal in Hobart on Friday 14 August.
Tickets for all shows go on sale Thursday 28 May at 10am AEST via thelmaplum.com.
