After making her Australian return last year for the first time in over a decade, singer-songwriter Kristin Hersh has announced she’s heading back this November in support of her new album, Sugar On Blackstone, out Friday 18 September via Fire Records.
Following 2023’s Clear Pond Road, Hersh’s new record is a darker collection of songs ruminating on life and death, survival and human connection. It’s another deeply personal project from the Throwing Muses and 50FootWave member.
To coincide with the announcement of her tour, Hersh has shared the single ‘Dark Eyed Junco’, a moody, guitar track featuring longtime collaborators Rob Ahlers (50FOOTWAVE) on drums and Pete Harvey (Throwing Muses) on cello.
Hersh’s Australian tour commences with two Victorian gigs at Frankston’s Young St. Tavern on Friday 13 November and Melbourne’s The Toff in Town on Saturday 14 November. Dates then follow in Sydney at The Vanguard on Sunday 15 November, Brisbane’s Cave Inn on Friday 20 November and Adelaide’s Grace Emily Hotel on Saturday 21 November, with Hersh’s final show at Perth’s Lynott’s Lounge on Sunday 22 November.
