Eddy Current Suppression Ring Drop Surprise New Album ‘In Light Of Recent Events’
This is the Melbourne garage outfit’s first album in seven years.

Beloved Melbourne garage rockers Eddy Current Suppression Ring have surprised dropped new album, In Light of Recent Events, their first long-player in seven years.
The self-released record appeared on the band’s Bandcamp page yesterday (Tuesday 26 May) and features 11 brand new tracks. Listen to the record here.
The follow-up to 2019’s All in Good Time is sure to be a hit with fans, with the vinyl edition already sold out online.
The release comes after Eddy Current ventured back into the spotlight with a gig at Melbourne’s Federation Square, which will be followed by a free performance as part of this year’s Vivid Sydney program and an appearance at Brisbane’s Open Season festival.

Formed in 2003, Eddy Current Suppression Ring quickly established themselves as one of Melbourne’s most exciting live acts.
Despite breaking up and getting back together several times over the journey, they remain favourites of Aussie crowds, with their back catalogue consisting of a couple of live albums and five LPs, including the just-released In Light of Recent Events.
Winners of the prestigious Australian Music Prize for their 2008 album Primary Colours, Eddy Current's recent formation hopefully means a fully fledged tour is on the cards in the near future.
