Uk anti-folk punk rockers Crywank are heading our way for one final tour in March. The Manchester-based collective have announced eight shows across the country – six full-band performances and two solo gigs featuring vocalist and guitarist Jay Clayton.
The band were originally only slated to perform three concerts, but revealed on Instagram demand for tickets meant they could add more: “People asked for more shows, and for all ages shows. Ticket sales meant we can afford to do more (thank you) and we have been able to add a shows in Newcastle, Adelaide, Perth and two shows in Tasmania (Hobart and Launceston). Can’t wait to perform for you all again Australia 🥲”
Six years on from their last tour, Crywank have been through the wringer. The pandemic hit, they split up, reformed with frequent collaborator Jules Noel on bass and unofficially beat Frank Carter’s world record for the most cities performed in a day.
Fans can expect an eclectic setlist drawing from Crywank’s deep discography that spans more than 20 studio albums, EPs, live recordings and compilations.
Now the band are touring Australia for what they call their “bittersweet” farewell, kicking things off at Newcastle’s King St Bandroom on Tuesday, March 18. The tour continues with gigs at Brisbane’s Crowbar on Wednesday, March 19, Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on Thursday, March 20, Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Saturday, March 22, Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Monday, March 24 and Perth’s Mojo’s Bar on Tuesday, March 25.
Crywank wraps things up with two solo Tassie gigs at Launceston’s The Royal Oak on Thursday, March 27 and Hobart’s The Grand Poobah on Friday, March 28.
