It’s finally here. After dropping several singles over the past couple of months, Foo Fighters’ much-anticipated twelfth studio album, Your Favorite Toy, is now out through Sony Music Australia.
Featuring the singles ‘Asking For A Friend’, ‘Your Favorite Toy’, ‘Caught In The Echo’ and ‘Of All People’, the album is classic Foo’s, with the band delivering 10 alternative rock tracks old school fans are gonna love.
Recorded at frontman Dave Grohl’s home, Your Favorite Toy was co-produced by the band and Oliver Roman, who also engineered the album, and mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent.
Speaking to Classic Rock, Dave Grohl described Your Favorite Toy as “the most fun we’ve had making a record in years,” adding the band approached it with “no rules, no pressure – just the joy of plugging in and seeing what happens.” The result? “It’s loud, it’s melodic, it’s weird in places… but it feels like us. It feels alive.” Guitarist Chris Shiflett echoes the sentiment, calling it “a reminder of why we started doing this in the first place.”
Fans keen to hear tracks from the album live can do so when Foo Fighters tour Australia and New Zealand later this year. The band will be joined by a host of incredible artists, including Full Flower Moon Band, The Belair Lip Bombs, Dick Move, Southern River Band and Adelaide’s own Kurralta Park.
Foo Fighters’ Take Cover Tour kicks off on Thursday 5 November 2026 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The band then plays shows at Townsville’s Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Saturday 7 November 2026, Sydney’s Accor Stadium on Tuesday 10 November 2026, Newcastle’s McDonalds Jones Stadium on Thursday 12 November 2026, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Saturday 14 November 2026 and Adelaide’s Coopers Stadium on Tuesday 17 November 2026.
Heading home for the festive season, the Foos return in January for two shows in New Zealand at Christchurch’s One New Zealand Stadium on Tuesday 19 January 2027 and Auckland’s Western Springs Stadium on Friday 22 January 2027, before wrapping things up with a final blowout in Perth at HBF Park on Monday 25 January 2027.

Foo Fighters have been at the top of the rock and roll mountain for more than three decades. Formed by Grohl after the demise of Nirvana in the mid-90s, the band has since become arguably the biggest rock act on the planet.
The Foos have released 12 studio albums, eight of which topped the ARIA Album Charts, won 15 Grammy Awards and played the biggest stages and festivals across the globe.
Despite a rough few years with the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, Grohl’s extramarital activities and the hiring and firing of drummer John Freese, the Foo Fighters appear reenergised and ready for anything, with the current lineup of Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin excited to be performing in Australia and New Zealand later this year.
