British producer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, DJ and all-around nice guy Fred Again shared two new songs last week.
The tracks are taken from Fred Again..’s two more days project, which follows on from his recently released fourth album, ten days.
As the title suggests, the project features two songs – ‘light dark light’, a collaboration with Australia’s very own Angie McMahon, and ‘little mystery’, which sees Fred Again.. paying homage to the great John Martyn.
The collab with McMahon is a reinterpretation of her song ‘Making It Through’, which is taken from McMahon’s #3 ARIA Album charting record Light, Dark, Light Again.
Speaking on the track, McMahon says, “Just as feelings and experiences should continue to rise and fall and ebb and flow, I think the message on this song is that everything we feel is beautiful, and also difficult, and also as it should be.”
Fred Again.. adds, “I made it a couple of hours before playing it at Glastonbury. during a darker bit.”
This isn’t the first time Fred has reworked a McMahon tune, having sampled the Aussie on tracks ‘Pasta’ and ‘Angie (i’ve been lost)’.

The second track ‘little mystery’ is also a reinterpretation of an existing track – John Martyn’s ‘Sweet Little Mastery’. Fred first teased the track back in 2022 during a studio live 3 broadcast.
He had this to say about the song on Instagram, “(little mystery).. sorta started the 10 days chapter so it felt right to me that this is the last song i put out from that chapter.”
