The Strokes have revealed they have a new album on the way, with the New York indie rockers’ seventh record, Reality Awaits, set for a mid-year release.
The band shared a video on social media to announce their first album in six years. Coming across as an ad from the ‘80s, the video features a Nissan 300ZX with the tagline “In the Flesh, it’s Even Sexier.” The promo vid also features music that may be from a new Strokes tune, along with a release date – “this summer”.
The news arrives ahead of The Strokes’ appearance at Coachella this weekend, their first time back to the Empire Polo Club since headlining the festival in 2011.
