In the lead-up to the release of their tenth studio album, Romanticize The Dive, out 24 April on Thirty Tigers (pre-order here), Canadian indie-synth outfit Metric have shared new single ‘Crush Forever’.
A shimmering indie number, Metric frontwoman Emily Haines calls ‘Crush Forever’ “my love letter to strong girls in this world.” Written in a stream-of-consciousness style as a passing of the torch, the track follows the previously released tracks ‘Victime of Luck’ and ‘Times Is A Bomb’.
Metric went back to the beginning for Romanticise The Dive, recording the album at New York City’s Electric Lady with Fantasies and Synthetica producer Gavin Brown alongside co-producers Jimmy Shaw and Liam O’Neil and mix engineer John O’Mahoney.

Formed in Toronto in 1998, Metric comprises Emily Haines (vocals, keys), Jimmy Shaw (producer, guitar, keys), Joshua Winstead (bass guitar, keys) and Joules Scott Key (drums).
For close to three decades, Metric have been stalwarts of the 00s indie rock scene, releasing nine studio albums, including their critically acclaimed 2009 record Fantasies, and gaining a positive reputation for their thrilling stage presence, especially frontwoman Haines.
Metric have five Juno Awards (the Canadian version of the Grammy) in their back pocket and have toured the globe extensively.
