Ahead of their upcoming Australian tour, ARIA Award winners Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have announced the release of a deluxe edition of their sophomore album GLORY, arriving on Friday 24 April via Community Music (pre-save here).
This version of the quartet’s acclaimed release features two new tracks – ‘BATH WATER’ and ‘GO WASTE MY TIME’ – along with stripped-back takes on four tracks.
‘BATH WATER’ is two and a half minutes of hedonistic rock about heading home after a big night. Speaking about the song, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers share, “‘BATH WATER’ is a slutty, drivey, fun song about coming home from a night out. It’s about when you leave a bar and are actually really excited to hang out by yourself and enjoy your own company, in a Ke$ha way though. Also – special shoutout to the R4 reference in verse 2 which is the bus that goes from Canberra CBD all the way back to Kambah xxxx”
Once the deluxe edition of GLORY drops, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers embark on their Australian and New Zealand tour alongside Aussie singer-songwriter Darcie Haven.
The tour commences in Tarndanya/Adelaide on Friday 1 May at The Gov. Teen Jesus then plays shows at Magnet House in Whadjuk Noongar/Perth (Saturday 2 May), Princess Theatre in Meanjin/Brisbane (Thursday 7 May), the Forum in Naarm/Melbourne (Friday 8 May) and the Roundhouse in Gadigal Land/Sydney (Saturday 9 May) before hotfooting it across to New Zealand for three shows.
Their Kiwi tour takes in The Loons in Ōtautahi/Christchurch (Thursday 21 May), The Tuning Fork in Tāmaki Makaura/Auckland (Friday 22 May) and San Fran in Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington on Saturday 23 May.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now via teenjesusandthejeanteasers.net.
