It’s hard to imagine, but it’s been 10 years since the release of Montaigne’s award-winning debut album, Glorious Heights. To mark this milestone, the talented creative is hitting the road this August and performing Glorious Heights in its entirety for fans across the nation.
Released in 2016, the album peaked at #4 on the ARIA Album Charts and went on to win Breakthrough Artist – Release at the ARIA Awards. Receiving glowing reviews from critics, the album produced three singles: ‘Clip My Wings’, ‘In the Dark’ and ‘Because I Love You’, with the latter becoming Montaigne’s first charting single.
Taking to social media to announce the tour, Montaigne posted a video of her slaying a dragon with the caption: “i’m going on australian national tour to celebrate 10 years of glorious heights!!! 🐉⚔️🐉 i’m so excited to revisit this album with you all and celebrate the last 10 years of montaigne music and fandom. there’ll be new merch, local support bands, joy, warmth, catharsis, and inclusivity. it’s gonna be woke af!!!! 🌈”
The tour begins with two shows in New South Wales at Wollongong’s La La La’s on Friday 7 August and Newcastle’s King Street Warehouse on Saturday 8 August, followed by gigs at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel on Friday 14 August, Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Saturday 15 August, Sunshine Coast’s Mo’s Desert Clubhouse on Thursday 20 August, Brisbane’s Crowbar on Friday 21 August and Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on Saturday 22 August.
The final three dates take place in Victoria at Frankston’s Pelly Bar on Thursday 27 August, Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Friday 28 August and Castlemaine’s Theatre Royal on Saturday 29 August.

Since the release of their debut album a decade ago, Montaigne has appeared on Hilltop Hoods’ singles ‘1955’ and ‘A Whole Day’s Night’, represented Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song ‘Technivolour’ and released three more albums: Complex (2019), Making It! (2022) and It’s Hard To Be A Fish (2025), with the latter being Montaigne’s first independently released and self-produced record.
It’s Hard To Be A Fish spawned the single ‘Red Flags’, a collaboration with Tom Carady that has over 64 million streams. They also hit the road for a massive tour of Europe and the UK supporting Eurovision collaborator Dadi Freyr and earned a Grammy nomination for their collaboration with acclaimed indie composer Austin Wintory.
Montaigne’s upcoming tour is both a celebration of her debut album, Glorious Heights, and a tribute to their career.
