Australian singer-songwriter, producer, guitarist and all-around music great Mick Thomas has announced a massive national tour to coincide with the release of his new album, GoComeBack.
Out today, Friday 31 October, on Coolin' By Sound Records, the album is the follow-up to Thomas’ recent First Step in a Homeward Direction EP. Produced by Steven Scram (Crowded House, Paul Kelly, Sans Cisco) at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios in Auckland, the album comprises two sides: Go and ComeBack.
Go takes you away from everyday life and explores the places and people of the world, while ComeBack seeks to find beauty in the mundane. Thomas is joined by the full Roving Commission band on the record, which includes Dave Foley on guitar, Ben Franz on bass, Jen Anderson on violin, Mark “Squeezebox” Wally on keys and accordion and Thomas and Brooke Taylor on vocals.
The album is accompanied by the first single ‘First Step In A Homeward Direction’, which debuted at #1 on the AIR Chart earlier this year, and the latest release ‘A Mighty Ride’, an enchanting country folk rainbow featuring Thomas and Taylor’s sublime harmonies.
