The comedian and entertainer will be bringing his brand new show, ‘An Audience With David Walliams’, to venues across the country. The show will involve Williams telling wickedly funny tales, taking on the personas of some of his most beloved characters and opening up about never-before-discussed moments from his career. There will also be a chance for audience members to ask Williams questions about his career and life.
The first stop of the tour is Sydney’s Darling Harbour Theatre on Sunday, September 7. The tour then takes in Sydney’s Coliseum Theatre on Tuesday, September 10, Canberra’s Royal Theatre on Thursday, September 12, Brisbane’s Great Hall on Sunday, September 15 and Gold Coast’s The Star on Wednesday, September 18.
Williams then makes his way to Adelaide and performs at AEC Theatre on Saturday, September 21 before dates at Newcastle’s Civic Theatre on Wednesday, September 15, Melbourne’s Plenary on Saturday, October 5 and Hobart’s Wrest Point on Tuesday, October 8. The final stop of the tour is Perth at Riverside Theatre on Saturday, October 12.
Williams tour is one comedy fans won’t want to miss, with tickets on general sale via TEG Dainty next week. Pre-sale tickets go on sale this Friday, March 22 at 11:30 am local time. You can register for pre-sale tickets here. General sale kicks off on Tuesday, March 26 at 11:30 am local time. Williams has been performing and writing since the late 90s, with a career spanning close to three decades. He first found fame alongside writing partner Matt Lucas with the sketch comedy Little Britain. Beginning life as a radio show, it was then turned into a successful TV series and live theatre performance. Along with Little Britain, Williams was a judge on Britain’s Got Talent for ten seasons, has starred in 15 films and even written a series of highly successful children’s novels. His books have sold over 53 million copies worldwide, with his novel Ratburger even turned into a one-off drama for Sky. “Audiences Down Under are the best. Matt [Lucas] and I had the greatest time touring ‘Little Britain’ in Australia, and so I am delighted to be back on the stage here,” David said in a statement about the tour.
“I have never done a show like this before, which makes it all the more exciting. I promise there will be lots of laughs, stories I have never told before and a chance for you to ask me anything you want. I will be expecting some rude questions! And I can’t wait to see you all there.”
See David Williams perform at the AEC Theatre in Adelaide on Saturday, September 21. Tickets are on sale via TEG Dainty.
