It’s shaping up as a big year for singer-songwriter Vera Blue, who has just announced the release of her new album, Modern Rituals, along with an Australian tour and new single, ‘Rituals’.

Arriving Friday 21 August via Island Records/Universal Music Australia, Modern Rituals is an exploration of who Vera Blue is, with the artist, whose real name is Celia Pavey, realising that both “Celia Pavey and Vera Blue are not separate entities. They are one.”

New single ‘Rituals’, the opening track of Vera’s third studio album, was created alongside Grammy-nominated producer Lachlan Bostock (Dom Dolla, ODESZA). ‘Rituals’ features Vera’s signature voice accompanied by cinematic instrumentation.

Speaking on the track and video, Vera shares, “‘Rituals’ is about learning to witness every version of yourself with honesty and compassion. Embracing the emotional patterns, sensitivities, and complexities that shape who we are, rather than constantly trying to fix them. I'm so proud of this song and how special it was working on it with Lach Bostock.

“The video strips everything back to something raw, instinctive, and vulnerable. The movement becomes a physical reflection of the emotional release, self-awareness, and surrender explored in the song. I loved creating this with my close friend Dave Jenkins Jr., someone I've worked alongside for over 12 years. Because he knows me so deeply, both as a person and an artist, I felt completely safe to be vulnerable and express the rawest version of myself through movement and emotion.”

Vera has also announced her first headline tour since 2022, beginning with a gig at Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on Friday 21 August. The Modern Rituals Tour then hits City Recital Hall in Sydney on Saturday 22 August, UC Refectory in Canberra on Sunday 23 August and Northcote Theatre in Melbourne on Wednesday 26 August, with the final concerta at The Gov in Adelaide on Thursday 27 August.

Tickets go on sale at 9am AEST Friday 12 June here.

Placing third on season two of The Voice in 2013, Vera Blue has gone on to release three albums (one under her real name, Celia Pavey, the other two as Vera Blue), garnered over 500 million streams and achieved 12 x Platinum and Gold ARIA accreditations.

Having supported the likes of Flume, Matt Corby and Maggie Rogers, sold out five national tours and played to full houses in the US, UK and Europe, 2026 promises to be another historic year for Vera Blue, with her third album set for release later this year.

Renowned for her hypnotic and dynamic live performances, including supporting Flume, Matt Corby, Maggie Rogers and singing to a crowd of 100,000 at the AFL Grand Final, the Sydney artist will bring Modern Rituals to life alongside all her biggest hits on her upcoming tour.
