UK indie act Catfish And The Bottlemen have cancelled their Australian tour. Set to kick off tonight in Sydney, the band has cited illness as the reason for pulling the plug on their tour last minute.
The news is devastating for fans who have been waiting for the band to return to our shores after reforming in 2023.
The cancellation of all six shows comes after the band canned their Dublin show over the weekend. Catfish And The Bottlemen have released a statement that appears on the Ticketek website that reads:
“Catfish and The Bottlemen want to thank the fans for their support. This weekend they were hoping to still be able to perform but on doctor orders they were forced to cancel their show in Dublin.
“Due to band illness, the Australian dates this month will also no longer be going ahead. The band were really looking forward to these shows and sincerely apologise to everyone for any inconvenience and disappointment.
“Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”
Fans will receive a full refund, with Ticketek explaining that all “tickets will be automatically refunded in full to the original payment method used for purchases and patrons do not need to take any action.”
