Big news from the multi-platinum, award-winning Brit giants…
If you’re anything like us, you would’ve been nursing a Catfish and the Bottlemen sized hole in your heart for the last few years. In 2021, the Welsh outfit announced they were splitting after three top 10 albums, and it’s been radio silence ever since.
That was, until the alt-indie rockers released cheeky new track ‘Showtime’ in February. The band has been very coy ever since, posting cryptic clues on social media on their whereabouts – including a photo of Adelaide’s railway station just five days ago. Our gig radar was going wild, but who’s to say one of the most mysterious bands right now would follow up with a slate of Aussie shows so soon after their comeback?
This morning, May 28, Catfish and the Bottlemen announced they’ll embark on a six-date Australian tour this September, ticking off every major city and even hitting up Bar on the Hill in Newcastle. They’ll play Hindley St Music Hall on September 10.
Pre-sale tickets go live May 30 at 11am AEST. You can sign up for access online here. General sale will be live afterwards on May 31.
The return of Catfish and the Bottlemen has been met with frenzy. The band has sold out its entire string of UK dates, while the US-leg of the tour is moving swiftly and multiple cities – including LA, Chicago and Washington – completely sold out.
The Australian tour news also comes as Catfish and the Bottlemen celebrate eight years of their seminal sophomore album The Ride, which gifted us tracks like ‘7’, ‘Soundcheck’ and ‘Twice’.
