Manchester alt-rockers James make their Australian and New Zealand return this year.
Best known for their massive hit ‘Laid’, which became the theme song for the American Pie franchise, James’ first visit since 2018 will see the collective perform tracks from their seminal 1993 album Laid, along with a career-spanning set featuring fan favourites, deep cuts and charting hits.
James won’t be coming alone, with indie stalwarts Razorlight joining them for their first tour down under in over 15 years. The band are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their self-titled album, although they won’t be performing in New Zealand.
The tour begins in Australia at Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium on Thursday 8 October and continues with dates at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on Saturday 10 October, Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Sunday 11 October and Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Tuesday 13 October, with the final date at New Zealand’s Civic Theatre in Auckland on Thursday 15 October.

The band have sold over 30 million records worldwide, and despite a period of inactivity in the early-00s when frontman Tim Booth left the band, since his return in 2007, James has gone on to release a further nine albums, including their most recent record, 2024’s Yummy, which reached #1 in the UK Albums Chart.
Their return down under gives local audiences the chance to experience the joyful magic of James in the flesh for the first time in almost a decade.
