A couple of months out from their long-overdue Australian and New Zealand return, metalcore stalwarts August Burns Red have announced their Aussie supports.
Having already revealed Texas post-hardcore outfit I Promised the World, the band are sad to say that Sydney’s bloom are no longer able to perform, with Melbourne’s cinemacore ensemble The Gloom In The Corner and post-hardcore quartet Fallweather joining proceedings.
Speaking on the upcoming tour, August Burns Red said, “We are so excited to headline Australia for the first time in seven years and return back to New Zealand after a decade!
“We are bringing two of the best up-and-coming acts in metalcore today to make this a can’t miss show. This tour will also be the first place in the world where we do a tour celebrating the release of our brand new record, Season of Surrender. We hope to see you all soon!”

It’s been over 20 years since August Burns Red burst onto the scene with their debut 2005 album Thrill Seeker. They’ve gone on to release 11 studio albums, including this year’s Season of Surrender, garnered more than 600 million streams and toured with a who’s who of heavy acts, from Bullet For My Valentine to A Day To Remember and more.
After several personal changes during the early years, the current lineup consists of OG members John Benjamin “JB” Brubaker (lead guitar), Brent Rambler (rhythm guitar) and Matt Greiner (drums, piano), alongside Jake Luhrs (lead vocals) and Dustin Davidson (bass, backing vocals).
Together, these five men have been shaping the progressive metalcore scene for two decades, with Aussie and Kiwi fans getting the chance to experience this live in the flesh across September and October.
