Halloween is just over a week away, and to celebrate the spooky season, North Adelaide cinema The Piccadilly is running a five-day horror-themed movie program, Horrof Fest.
Running from Wednesday 29 October to Sunday 2 November, The Piccadilly is screening nine horror classics that are sure to give you the heebe jeeebies.
The program begins with a screening of Michael Powell’s 1960 serial killer thriller Peeping Tom. Despite the movie being slammed by UK critics at the time of its release, Peeping Tom has become a cult classic and is now considered a masterpiece.
Freddy Krueger will enter your dreams with a screening of the ‘80s favourite A Nightmare on Elm Street, Leatherface runs wild with a chainsaw during Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the original 1992 version of Candyman will be shown on 35mm film.
Halloween plays host to two films about possession, the underrated Megan Fox vehicle Jennifer’s Body and arguably the scariest film of all time, The Exorcist.
Program highlights also include 1931’s Dracula, Jordan Peele’s contemporary classic Get Out and ‘70s psychological horror Let's Scare Jessica to Death.

Several of the films that make up Horror Fest will be screened in The Piccadilly’s new boutique cinemas 2 and 3.
These recently refurbished cinemas feature plush Art Deco seating with deluxe armchairs, two-person sofas and chaise lounges up for grabs. Each seat comes with a lamp and a QR code so you can order food and drink from your seat.
The new menu includes everything from wine, beer and spirits for those who just want a tipple, to share platters, pizza, sliders and even delicious desserts.
