Acclaimed Drama ‘Till the Stars Come Down’ to Launch 2026 Holden Street Theatres Season

As Holden Street Theatres Inc. (HST Inc.) prepares for its 2026 Season, organisers have revealed Till the Stars Come Down will make its Australian premiere to open things.
The 2024 Olivier-nominated smash hit play by award-winning British playwright Beth Steel arrives in Adelaide after captivating audiences in the UK.
Directed by Nick Fagan, HST Inc.’s Director in Residence, the production has a limited run at The Studio from Tuesday 26 May to Saturday 13 June.
The play deals with themes of class, family and belonging and is set against the backdrop of a family wedding where sisters clash, emotions run high and family secrets come to light.
The production features a terrific ensemble cast, including Martha Lott, Michelle Nightingale, Krystal Cave, Jo St Clair, Brendan Cooney, Brant Eustice, Spencer Scholz, Steve Turner, Laura Lines and Millie Fagan.

Speaking about the play, Nick Fagan says, “Till the Stars Come Down is a deeply personal and human story that speaks to tenderness and the complexity of family relationships. This is a play for our times, which will connect with Adelaide audiences on every level.

The headline production for HST Inc’s 2026 Season, Chief Executive and Artistic Director Martha Lott said that Till the Stars Come Down, directed by Fagan, is a major coup for the season.
“From London to Holden Street, we are thrilled to open our 2026 in-house season with Nick agan as Director in Residence”, Lott said.
“The production embodies everything that audiences love about Holden Street: bold storytelling, unflinching performances and theatre that moves you, and leaves a lasting impression.”
