After gracing our shores in 2024 with his sold-out Thoughtifier tour, UK comedian Bill Bailey returns with his new stand-up show Vaudevillean.
Much like the title of his new stand-up, Bailey will showcase his versatile approach to comedy, combining simple joke-telling with hilarious anecdotes and live musical theatre.
As the press release prompts, Bailey could be “perhaps the foremost practitioner of this great tradition, an entertainer, a performer, a modern Vaudevillean!”
Bailey’s Vaudervillean Tour kicks off with two concerts in Tassie at Launceston’s Albert Hall on Sunday 13 September and Hobart’s Wrest Point Entertainment Centre on Monday 14 September.
The tour then heads to Queensland for four performances at Brisbane’s Convention Centre on Friday 18 September, Toowoomba’s Empire Theatre on Monday 21 September, Gold Coast’s Star Theatre on Wednesday 23 September and Caloundra’s Events Centre on Thursday 24 September.
Dates follow in New South Wales at Newcastle’s Entertainment Centre on Friday 25 September, Wollongong’s WIN Entertainment Centre on Saturday 26 September, Sydney’s State Theatre on Monday 28 September and Rooty Hill’s Coliseum Theatre on Thursday 1 October.
Bailey then spends October playing Canberra’s Royal Theatre on Friday 2 October, Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre on Tuesday 6 October, Perth’s Riverside Theatre on Saturday 10 October and Bunbury’s Regional Entertainment Centre on Tuesday 13 October, wrapping up his two month tour in Victoria with shows at Bengio’s Ulumbarra Theatre on Friday 16 October, Geelong’s Costa Hall on Saturday 17 October and Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Tuesday 20 October.
Pre-sale takes place at 11am AEST Friday 10 April, followed by the general on-sale at 12-m AEST Monday 13 April. Full ticketing information is available at bohmpresents.com.
UK musical comedian Bill Bailey has been making people laugh for close to four decades. Getting his start in the late ‘80s, Bailey’s profile rose when he starred in the hit UK comedies Spaced and Black Books.
Appearances on the top panel shows followed, including a six-year stint on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, as Bailey began selling out tours across the globe, with Australian audiences lapping up his outrageous humour.
Bailey also has an affinity for the land down under, filming the four-part 2023 documentary series Bill Bailey's Australian Adventure, and touring here every couple of years.
Catch Bill Bailey performing at Thebarton Theatre on Tuesday 6 October. Ticketing information is available at bohmpresents.com.
