Between gigs? Need some post-mosh nosh? Hankering for a top tipple? Well, good news – The Note delivers…

La Louisiane

Image @lalouisianeadl

You’ll find French-inspired feeds, live jazz and world-class wines in new boujee basement bar, La Louisiane. The once dormant downstairs space is now a cosy yet vibrant venue that’ll transport you straight to the city of love. Très bien! The menu takes cues from Head Chef Alexis Besseau’s French heritage, and the expansive drinks offering follows suit. Live music every Friday and Saturday. Walk-ins only!

Yes please: 300gm scotch fillet with bone marrow butter and French fries.

Where: 89 King William Street, Adelaide

Dokeo

We’re forever grateful for this city-based bar and its contribution to Adelaide’s ever-growing group of wine venues. Café by day, bar by night – a perfect place for the CBD’s suit wearers for a quick (and cheap!) lunch or for date night. It comes with a committed preference for small producers and sustainable agriculture and is perfect for drinking lo-fi wine while nibbling on share plates. Not a place for wine wankers.

Yes please: Adobo chicken rice bowl.

Where: 258 Pulteney Street, Adelaide

Noori

This cosy café down south has the bones of an early 1900s horse barn. Star turns include seasonal produce, pintxos, cheese toasties and oysters. Community is at the forefront here – everything is done with Noarlunga’s locals in mind (including the recent winter solstice lasagne party). Hearty mains and plates of pasta pair with SA wine, beer and gin. Head there for ‘Sunday Rinse’ a vinyl session from 3–5pm.

Yes please: Red chilli, pork and fennel mince on linguine.

Where: Shop 2/20 Gawler Street, Port Noarlunga

Dante’s Deli

The humble sandwich is the star of the show at Dante’s Deli. Adding to Adelaide’s ever-growing group of sandwich bars (think Pinco Deli and Just Down The Road), Dante’s is slinging slices of fresh bread with tasty fillings to people who happen to stumble across the cute, all-white corner deli. There’s limited seating but it’s inspired by Italo panini bars, which means there’s more to love.

Yes please: A classic sopressa, tomato, fior di latte sub with pickled peppers, spicy mayo and basil.

Where: 3/58 Jetty Road, Glenelg

Yellow Matter

Yellow Matter microbrewery has been opened by Adelaide’s female-led hospitality group, Sonic Yoni. The Brooklyn Park-based brewery is the sibling venue to beloved brunch spot, Karma and Crow. It’s got everything going on, including Studio Gram fit-out, pizzas and pints, and daily opening from 10am to 6pm.

Yes please: Shio Koji mushrooms with buffalo mozzarella pizza – and an Amber Sour.

Where: 18/108-118 Marion Road, Brooklyn Park
