August 2025: Five To Try

Hungry for more? We’ve got you covered!

Gabagool

Selling out of subs (although tragic) is a regular occurrence at Grange Road’s Gabagool, a New Jersey style sub shop. The store, named after Tony Soprano’s mispronunciation of capocollo (an Italian dry-cured pork), not only links the deli’s name to Italian America, but the food, ethos and vibe of the place. Picks like their oozy Philly cheesesteak sub, packed with scotch fillet, grilled onion and capsicum and mild provolone appeal not just to the mega meat eaters out there – but to anyone. Trust us, as not huge meat eaters; we are salivating looking at this menu.

Yes please: Fresh Italian sub with provolone, prosciutto, mortadella, capocollo, soppressata, lettuce, tomato and onion.

Nevs Café

Brekky, lunch and the classic combo of the two are done right in St Agnes at the familyrun Nev’s café. Usually, a huge menu means sacrificing intricacy or quality – but not at Nev’s. Boasting a massive selection of wraps, focaccias, piadinas, burgers, hotdogs, salads and brekkie favs, Nev’s delivers only the best. From 6:30am on weekdays and 7-7:30am on weekends until 3pm, they serve up a delicious yet affordable brunch menu, featuring greats like the ‘Ottoman’ – scrambled eggs, Barossa bacon, avo, baby spinach, sweet chilli mayo on a toasted piadina or their waffle stack - with cream patisserie, rich ice-cream, seasonal fruits, passionfruit pulp and chocolate drizzle.

Yes please: Matcha & Me Smoothie Bowl – Almond milk, banana, mango, dates, spinach, matcha & mint.
