Tarntanya/Adelaide Outfit Swapmeet Sign to Winspear, Share new single ‘I Know!’
‘I Know!’ is the quartet’s first release since 2024.

Emerging Tarntanya/Adelaide rockers Swapmeet have revealed they’ve signed to Winspear, home of bands such as Slow Pulp, Winter and Wishy.
The first Aussie group to sign to the LA-based label, this is a massive step in the career of Swapmeet, with Winspear founder Jared Jones excited to have the band join his label’s ranks.
"We're thrilled to welcome Australia’s Swapmeet to the Winspear roster as our first signing outside the US,” says Jones. “From the first spin, it was clear the band has a distinct voice and is fearless in their creative instincts. Their songs balance emotional weight with an undeniable sense of play — and they certainly know how to end a song with a bang in a way that has you reaching for the replay button."
Swapmeet has also shared their first release on Winspear, the jangly shoegaze pop burst ‘I Know!’. Of the cathartic and buoyant track, Swapmeet shares, “‘I Know!’ feels like a poking out of the tongue. Making fun of those who hurt. Beginning to not care. ‘I Know!’ was written accidentally - a song arising from an in-between practice jam. The lyrics alike arose pretty spontaneously too, without much over-analysing or fluff. I Know! I Know! I Know! You know?”

Comprising Venus O’Broin (guitar, vocals), Joshua Doherty (bass), Maxwell Elphick (guitar, drums, vocals), and Jack Medlyn (guitar, drums, vocals), Swapmeet met as teenagers in the early 2020s.
Bonding over their shared love of ‘90s alternative acts such as Pavement and Sonic Youth, the four began writingmusic together and released their debut EP Oxalis in mid-2024.
Winning two gongs at the SA Music Awards for Best Release and Best Song for ‘Ceiling Fan’, it wasn’t long before Swapmeet were being played on radio across the nation.
Along with playing headline shows, Swapmeet have supported the likes of BENEE, Suki Waterhouse, Floodlights, The Belair Lip Bombs and West Thebarton, while also causing a buzz at BIGSOUND.
Next month, Swapmeet are heading overseas for their debut at SXSW Austin, with global stardom sure to follow.
