Heavy metal legends Iron Maiden’s feature documentary, Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition, is set to hit Australian cinemas on Thursday 7 May.

The announcement of the documentary screening in Australia coincides with the release of new art by Albert “Akirant” Quirantes, offering fans a first visual look at the film.

Documenting the highs and lows of Maiden’s journey, the film is directed by Malcolm Venville (Churchill at War) and produced by Dominic Freeman (Spirits in the Forest – A Depeche Mode Film) and charts the bands five decade career.

Along with archival footage and interviews with all members of Iron Maiden, the doco also includes chats with admirers such as Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich and Chuck D, with each speaking about the influence Maiden has had on not only music, but culture and a generation of fans across the globe.

Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition arrives during the final stages of the band’s two-year Run For Your Lives world tour, with Maiden recently announcing a special celebration named EddFest in historic Knebworth Park, England, on Saturday 11 July.
