Radio Free Alice's long-awaited debut album, What's In Between, is out now via Atlantic Records.

The 11-track album, which includes the singles 'Lunch Money', 'Kick in the Shins', 'Crying With You' and 'Big Ideas', was recorded across three continents with Peter Katis (Interpol, The National), Ewan Pearson (Depeche Mode, Franz Ferdinand) and Finn Billingham.

Celebrating the album early with a run of free DIY pop-ups, Radio Free Alice packed more than 800 fans into a back alley in Sydney's Inner West and took over Pentridge Prison's H Division in Melbourne, which once held Chopper Read.

"I don't know if I'm an especially joyous person. I wish I was more joyous. But I want to be somebody that makes joyous music. I think it's a self-deprecating record but, if I can say so myself, I think there's something very charming about the album," says frontman Noel Learmonth. "If the album was a person, it's the sort of person I’d want to be."

Accompanying today's release is the official video for 'The Intersection', with Learmonth sharing, "'The Intersection' is a story about someone keeping up a relationship in the outside world while receiving treatment in a mental hospital. It’s a love story, really. It's a love song. It's definitely our poppiest song to date and a part of that makes us a little nervous… but I think we find that exciting. We’re a band that doesn't want to be afraid or insecure about being boldly melodic."

Frontman Learmonth, guitarist Jules Paradiso, bassist Michael Phillips and drummer Lochie Dowd are thrilled to have their debut album finally out in the world.

"It's a huge relief to finally announce the album," says Learmonth "We've lived with these songs for such a long time, and they've become such a big part of our lives, so knowing there's now a date when they'll finally exist outside of us feels incredibly cathartic."

Keen to hit the road and perform the album for fans, Radio Free Alice are touring the UK and Europe next year, and have also locked in appearances at American festivals Noise Pop Festival, Innings Music Festival and Treefort Music Festival.

Hopefully the lads return to Australia for a run of shows soon, but until then, give the album a spin and get lost in the world of Radio Free Alice.
