Radio Free Alice Return With New Single 'Kick In The Shins'

Naarm/Melbourne post-punk favourites Radio Free Alice are back with new single, 'Kick in the Shins'.

Following the release of their tender track ‘Lunch Money’, the band's latest effort follows the Madchester blueprint with rattling riffs and Noah Learmonth’s quick-witted storytelling. Did we mention the addition of saxophone from Michael Phillips that gives 'Kick in the Shins' an extra burst of excitement? So good!

Produced by Ewan Pearson (Depeche Mode, Royksopp) and Peter Katis (Interpol, Death Cab for Cutie, The National), Learmonth had this to say about the new single: "Kick in the Shins’ is a fusion of two songs that never felt all the way complete. We loved the verse of one of them and the chorus of the other, and it worked when we combined the two. We wanted to create a song you could jump around to. At its core, it explores the feeling of being confused by the culture around you, and the isolation that often comes with that confusion."

'Kick in the Shins' coincides with the release of a visualiser filmed in Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer in northern France with Hannah Murrell.

Founded in Eora/Sydney in 2020, the Naarm/Melbourne-based quartet shared their third EP, Empty Words, last year, while just last month they signed with Atlantic Records earlier this year.

The release of 'Kick in the Shins' arrives as Radio Free Alice are midway through a run of festival performances across Europe and the UK, including appearances at the UK’s Reading Festival and Way Out West Festival in Gothenburg, Sweden.
