October 03 - Noteworthy New Releases

Our favourite releases of the week.

Kate Lewis – ‘I Wish I Could Tell You’

Taken from Kate Lewis’ debut EP Same Heart, ‘I Wish I Could Tell You’ is a gorgeous piano ballad recalling prime Missy Higgins. Recorded in a room with just Lewis’ voice and piano, this is the type of song that gets you nostalgic about lost loves and past connections, with Lewis’ rich voice soaring over the melodic ivories.

Sounds like: Storytelling with soul.

Exit Plan – ‘2 Fish’

Need a little funk in your life? Wrap your ears around this nugget from Murray Bridge quartet, Exit Plan. A hybrid of funk rock and ‘90s grunge with a little blues thrown in for good measure, ‘2 Fish’ is chock full of soul and a great insight into what these raw and rhythmic music makers are all about.

Sounds like: A funk salad.

Jonny Amoral – ‘Sabotage’

Adelaide all-rounder Jonny Amoral gets down and dirty on grungy new single ‘Sabotage’. Loud, raw and in your face, this is another gritty serving of nu metal swagger with a pulsating groove. If you like what you hear, catch Amoral launch ‘Sabotage’ at TIA on September 6.

Sounds like: Divebar heaven.

TV Therapy – ‘Phoebe’

Sometimes you hear a song that instantly puts you in a good mood – that’s exactly what you get when listening to ‘Phoebe’. The latest offering from TV THEARPY’s upcoming sophomore EP is an indie rock explosion exploring heartbreak and loss with one hell of a catchy hook.

Sounds like: Breakfast.
