James May Announces ‘Explorers’ Live Show Australian Tour
Join James May as he brings to life the stories of the world’s greatest explorers.

James May, best known for his role on British car shows Top Gear and The Grand Tour, is bringing his new live show, Explorers: The Age of Discovery, to Australia this July and August.
The landmark theatre show is based on the television series of the same name, which May presents. The live performance “combines theatrical techniques and James’ charismatic storytelling” and promises to be an audio and visual spectacular woven together by James’ awe-inspiring tales of famous explorers, including Lief Ericson, John Cabot, James Cook and Gertrude Bell.
May’s Exploreres: The Age of Discovery takes in six shows, commencing at Perth’s PCEC, Riverside Theatre on Tuesday, July 29. He then takes the stage at Adelaide’s AEC Theatre on Thursday, July 31, Canberra’s Llewellyn Hall on Saturday, August 2, Melbourne’s MCEC, Plenary on Tuesday, August 5 and Brisbane’s City Hall on Thursday, August 7, before bringing the Australian leg of the tour to a close at Hobart’s Frederation Concert Hall on Sunday, August 10.

An award-winning journalist with a long career in the media, James May got his start writing for auto publications before being thrust into the spotlight when he joined the BBC’s Top Gear alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond.
The trio had a long and successful relationship working for the BBC before jumping ship to Amazon in 2016 with Top Gear clone, The Grand Tour.
Along with his work with Clarkson and Hammond, May has hosted over a dozen different shows on various subjects and written over 15 books.
