Adelaide’s favourite food market returns this October as part of the state’s annual OzAsia Festival. Held at Elder Park from Thursday, October 24 to Sunday, November 10, Lucky Dumpling Market is a foodies paradise, with a tantalising selection of Asian delicacies on offer.
The free event saw over 140,000 punters pass through its gates last year, with the 2024 event set to be bigger and better than ever before. Not only is there a huge variety of food on offer, catering to everyone from meat eaters to vegans and vegetarians, but the two-and-a-half-week food and entertainment extravaganza also features several bars, live entertainment and plenty of fun for families.
Over 20 vendors have been selected for this year’s Lucky Dumpling Market, with nine new food trucks and eateries added, including Lucy’s Diner (from the team behind Gondola Gondola) and Ong Vietnamese, the sister restaurant to the acclaimed Noi Vietnamese Eatery. “The Gluttony team is delighted to be bringing Lucky Dumpling Market back for its eighth spring season in a row,” says Elena Kirschbaum, co-director of Lucky Dumpling Market and Gluttony.
“There's nothing better than enjoying dumplings and drinks, sitting on green grass overlooking the Torrens, while enjoying some live tunes by fantastic OzAsia Festival artists,"
Along with the delish vendors mentioned, the Sake Bar will be back for those wishing to sample the Japanese delicacy while the OzAsia Festival stage will play host to some of Australia’s most talented musical acts, including the Aussie K-Poppers United Concert and Seoul Vibe along with rapper L-FRESH The Lion, who will perform on the market’s closing night.
Lucky Dumpling Market is held at Elder Park on the Adelaide Riverbank. Entry is via the riverside pathway on the northern side of Elder Park and King William Road on the park’s southern side.
The market will open Tuesday to Thursday from 4:30pm, Friday from 4:00pm and Saturday and Sunday from midday, running until late into the evening each night. The market is closed on Monday.
