American punk rock outfit The Linda Lindas have announced the release of their third studio album, GOTTA GET OUT, which drops Friday 28 August via Reprise/Warner Records.
The release follows 2024’s critically acclaimed No Obligation, an album NME called “exhilarating punk that will mobilise anyone who listens to it.”
After dropping the album’s first single ‘Burning Out’ last month, the quartet have shared new track ‘Closer’, which features Paramore’s Hayley Williams.
Originally envisioned as a track between The Linda Lindas’ Bela Salazar and Lucia de la Garza, ‘Closer’ soon evolved into a full band collab, with Williams jumping on board during the recording process.
“‘Closer’ is about feeling like you're losing control of time, and watching yourself grow older from afar,” said Salazar and de la Garza in a statement.
“Lately, we've been realising how important it is to stay present, especially when our lives feel constantly in motion. It feels perfect that Hayley Williams was down to collaborate on this song with us, because we've been fans of her throughout so many of her different phases - and she's seen us grow up over the last ten years! We'll always be honoured that we got to write and get emo with the queen of emo herself.”
