Fresh from conquering Australia, UK singer-songwriter James Marriott has shared 'Lovestruck', the second single taken from his third album Warning Signs, out Friday 25 January 15 via AWAL.

The guitar twerker finds Marriott falling for someone who might already be taken, displaying the 'I Don't Want To Live Like This' hitmakers' witty, heart-on-sleeve lyrics.

"'Lovestruck' was a song I initially wrote a couple of years ago," James details. "At first it was a heavier, electronic song with a synth bass; the chorus having 'which one of you fuckers wants your bank robbed' screamed over it! The song was shelved for a while until I was listening to '1979' by the Smashing Pumpkins and I thought about revisiting it. The lyrics detail the bravado of meeting someone and the inflation of the ego in such a presentation, only for the possible partner to already be in a relationship with someone that the lead doesn’t think they should be with. I spent hours trying to replace 'which one of you fuckers wants your bank robbed', but nothing ever hit me in the same way. It feels like a very sincere song to me."

The song is accompanied by a fun music video, which James explains: "I wanted the song’s sincerity to be matched by the music video, learning how to dance (poorly) over a couple of days and creating a one-shot style music video separates it from the majority of other music videos I've done. I adore both the video and the song!"

Warning Signs was written and recorded over the past year as James Marriott found himself touring the globe, playing headline shows and making festival appearances across the UK, Europe, North America and Australia – where he performed to sold-out crowds, with our reviewer calling Marriott's Adelaide debut "everything I could have hoped for and more".

Consisting of 11 tracks, including singles 'Burn Down The Disco' and 'Lovestruck', Warning Signs charts the highs and lows of a relationship, from early infatuation through to the devastating aftermath.

"This album, it’s all 'moment-based' for me," James explains. "For a song to latch into my head, there has to be a moment where I think, 'Oh yeah, this is amazing'. I can pick out something in every track on the record that gives me that feeling."

'Lovestruck' is out now. Listen here. Warning Signs is out Friday 15 January via AWAL. Pre-order/save here.
