Six years on since the release of their critically acclaimed third record We Will Always Love You, Aussie electronic masters The Avalanches return with new single ‘Together’.
Featuring Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza and Prentiss, ‘Together’ is accompanied by the message: “How are you looking after your memories? At Takumi Digital Archives your most treasured moments are safe with us.”
There’s also a link to a website straight out of the ‘90s. Once there, you’ll be asked several random questions before receiving another message, “At Takumi, we understand that digital archives are more than data repositories - they are institutional memory, intellectual property, and cultural heritage. Our platform combines enterprise-grade security, scalable infrastructure, and intelligent indexing to deliver a secure, future-ready foundation for digital preservation.”
You then have the option to sign up to the Takumi mailing list to keep up-to-date with everything that’s going on in the world of Takumi Digital Archives, which obviously means a new album is on the cards.

One of Australia’s greatest musical exports, the trio of Robbie Chater, Tony Di Blasi and Andy Szekeres are responsible for three incredible albums, including their seminal debut, Since I Left You.
The Avalanches’ Since I Left You took sampling to a new level in the 21st century. The record has sold over 1 million copies worldwide and has been streamed over 700 million times. Considered a modern-day classic, Since I Left You is often namechecked in the top albums of the past two decades.
After a long wait between drinks, The Avalanches returned with two more acclaimed LPs, Wildflower (2016) and We Will Always Love You (2020). And if ‘Together’ is anything to go by, their next release shapes as another era-defining collection of tracks.
