Tex Perkins & Matt Walker Announce Australian Tour

Last week, Tex Perkins and Matt Walke released their debut album, Before The Show.

The 10-track collection was written and recorded in 2025, with the majority of songs recorded on the first take as captured by Walker using his mobile recording unit.

The result is an authentic album showcasing the talents of Perkins and Walker at their most honest and vulnerable.

The pair are celebrating the release with a national tour from September to November, where they will perform tracks from the album alongside songs from their own back catalogues while sharing stories behind the songs.

The tour begins with two shows at Flow Bar in the coastal town of Old Bar on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September, before Perkins and Walker make their way through Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and Tassie, wrapping things up on Sunday 22 November at Spring Bay Mill in Triabunna.

Both Tex Perkins and Matt Walker are accomplished artists whose careers span decades.

Perkins is best known as the singer-songwriter and frontman of rock band The Cruel Sea, but he's also had success as a member of Beasts of Bourbon, Thug, James Baker Experience, The Butcher Shop, Salamander Jim and Tex, Don and Charlie.

Walker is an ARIA Award-winning blues and folk musician who has released over 10 solo and collaborative albums across the journey.
