After teasing fans on Instagram and TikTok with a snippet from their cover of Britney Spears’ hit single ‘…Baby One More Time’, Tenacious D have unveiled a full-length music video for the song. Featuring during the end credits of Kung-Fu Panda 4, the D’s cover is a rocking tribute to Spears’ original, with the music video filmed on the red carpet of the movie’s premiere at AMC The Grove in Los Angeles last week.A clip of the duo lip-synching to their cover of the song went viral and led to this star-studded music video that features many of those involved in the film, including Byran Cranston, Dustin Hoffman, Awkwafina, Ke Huy Quan, and James Hong.In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere, the band were asked if they had a message for Spears, with Black replying, “Britney, if you’re watching, I love you. I love the song … We’re very proud of [our version and] I hope you like it, too.” Black also hinted at a possible collaboration with the pop superstar: “I’m here! I’m ready when you are. I’m waiting by the phone.”The release of the cover comes after Tenacious D announced they are bringing their ‘Spicy Meatball Tour’ to Australia this July. The band are playing five shows in Australia and two in New Zealand, performing at Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Monday, July 22. Kung-Fu Panda 4 hits Australian cinemas on March 28.
