Stabbitha and the Knifey Wifeys Announce New Album & National Tour

Following 2022's 'III', the band's new album 'DISGUST' is set to arrive later this month.

Adelaide hardcore heavy punk quartet Stabbitha and the Knifey Wifeys have announced the release of their new album, DISGUST.

As you can probably guess by the title of the record, DISGUST is an unapologetic look at the world around us, aimed at those who are frustrated and left with an increasing feeling of anxiety and despair.

"At its core, DISGUST explores our decline from the moment of birth," says the band's press release. "Life is short. Passing is inevitable. The fleeting nature of life and our awareness of mortality are what really make humanity human. DISGUST honours something machine learning can never replicate: Beautiful despair."

Although the album contains some pretty heavy and personal themes, exploring womanhood, queerness, survival and loss, fans of Stabbitha and the Knifey Wifeys can expect the high energy of the band's live shows to be replicated on wax.

Along with the release of DISGUST, the Knifey Wifeys have announced a run of shows across the country. They will perform in Brisbane on Saturday 5 September, followed by Adelaide on Saturday 3 October, Newcastle on Friday 4 December and in Lismore on Saturday 5 December. Venues TBA, along with more shows.

Fans can also catch them supporting The Mark of Cain on Saturday 21 November at Hindley Street Music Hall.

As Kathleen Hanna of Bikini Kill put it: "...no idea how the singer is alive after soundcheck... so much power!!"
