Sydney trio EGOISM are embarking on a national tour across May and June. The run of dates follows the release of their singles ‘Catching Up/YOLO’ and ‘Summer Again, Sung To The End’, the latter a song capturing the feelings of being caught between seasons as summer comes to an end.
“We wrote this song right as it started getting hot last year. It’s a lament on the way that summer can sap the energy from everything you do and stifle creativity. In some ways, it’s a bit of an ode to the Australians who are not the beachy/outdoorsy types,” says EGOISM’s bassist and co-vocallist Scout Eastment.
The track has a groovy little riff that complements the male/female vocal dynamic of Eastment and guitarist Olive Rush, with drummer Adam Holmes keeping the pace nicely.
EGOISM’s Australian tour begins with an all-ages hometown show at Mary’s Underground in Sydney on Saturday 23 May. The three-piece then performs at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on Thursday 28 May, followed by dates at Brisbane’s Tomcat on Saturday 6 June and Perth’s Fout5Nine on Friday 12 June, with the final concert at The Austral in Adelaide on Saturday 13 June.
