Western Australia indie surf rock outfit South Summit have announced their biggest Australian headline tour to date.
Currently ripping it up across the UK and Europe supporting The Terrys, the lads are excited to return home for a run of shows this July in support of their just announced sophomore album, RUN IT BACK, out Friday 12 June.
The record takes inspiration from a variety of genres (funk, hip hop, R&B, physcedhliac and reggae) and showcases South Summit’s growth as songwriters. The album includes the singles ‘TOP OF THE HILL’, ‘WE ARE’ and ‘ON THE DASH’, with the latter becoming one of the top five most played tracks on triple j.
Speaking on their upcoming tour, South Summit’s Nemo says, “Taking our second album RUN IT BACK on the road feels like a turning point for us. These songs have lived with us for so long, playing these tracks for the first time is always a moment. We can feel it shift from something personal to something shared. That energy is everything, and to be doing it on some of the biggest stages in Australia and soon to be new countries is wild. It's a reminder of how far we’ve come.”
South Summit’s national tour begins in Sydney at Metro Theatre on Friday 10 July and continues with shows at The Triffid in Brisbane (Saturday 11 July), Lion Arts Factory in Adelaide (Friday 17 July) and 170 Russell in Melbourne (Saturday 18 July), with the final date at the Metropolis in Fremantle on Saturday 25 July.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now via southsummitband.com.
