Single Premiere: TOWNHOUSE ‘Avengers Level Threat’
TOWNHOUSE’s new single is taken from their upcoming EP, Look At Me Now.

‘Avengers Level Threat’ is the latest single taken from Adelaide indie-emo rockers TOWNHOUSE’s upcoming EP, Look At Me Now.
A nostalgic throwback to the good old days of ‘90s guitars and heartbreakingly raw vocals, ‘Avengers Level Threat’ finds the trio of Cooper Smith (drums), Dan Heath (vocals/guitar) and Matt Burgess (guitar) at their creative best.
“This one is some of the most honest I’ve ever been about how I’m feeling — a bit like bleeding over the page,” shares Heath.
It’s easy to see why. His lyrics are like a church confessional, with his distinct rasp exploring the fear of being left behind as the world moves past you.
Produced, engineered and mixed by Burgess, with mastering completed by Matt Sazinowsky, another point of difference with ‘Avengers Level Threat’ is the addition of TOWNHOUSE’s high school mate Harry Boyd-Turner, who turns up the trumpet during the final stanza of the song.
The brass section fills out the sound and showcases TOWNHOUSE’s willingness to experiment and evolve with each new release.

Recorded in Burgess’ bedroom, Look At Me Now marks the next chapter in TOWNHOUSE’s journey. Chatting about the release with The Note in our latest print edition (Issue 34), the band explained how Look at Me Now “is the truest form of TOWNHOUSE.”
“We focused a lot on making sure this EP was a step up from what we’ve done before, from songwriting to performances and production. It was of the utmost importance that this felt like a cohesive product - we not only picked our seven favourite tracks, but those that fit together both thematically and sonically.”
To celebrate the release of ‘Avengers Level Threat’, TOWNHOUSE are performing a special hometown show at Adelaide UniBar on Saturday September 20. Joining them will be local legends The Fuss and Dropsink.
Formed in 2022, TOWNHOUSE began life as a cover band before finding their rhythm as an original act, delivering their fantastic debut EP Tell Your Mum I Said Hi in 2023.
As they prepare for the release of Look At Me Now, TOWNHOUSE have emerged as one of the SA music scene’s most exciting acts.
