'Sensational' Is the Third Single Taken From Wishy's Upcoming Second Album

Indianapolis indie outfit Wishy have dropped new single 'Sensational', the third track taken from their upcoming sophomore album, Nature's Pill, out Friday 2 October via Winspear.

Following the album's first two singles 'All The Rage' and 'Lovesick', the band's latest is an interesting mashup of '90s guitar rock and early 00s dream pop that came to fruition through singer and guitarist Kevin Krauter's experimentation with drum loops.

Featuring the dual vocals of Krauter and Nina Pitchkites, 'Sensatoinal' has a hazy, shoegaze vibe with a clear message: "Life is, simply put, fucking crazy."

Krauter says of the track: “hiiiii :))) we are back for press blurb no. 3!!!!!*(;( heres a mf Major Fact about this song: basically mitch wrote this killer bass line and we had to rock it out crazy style a la breeders etienne if u catch the vision 0_0 - hope everyone has fun listening lets run it up at a coworkers bday party and just see what happens <3 -kev”

The song is accompanied by an animated music video made using 3,000 cutouts of the band that was directed by Jess Dunn, who explained more about the process of making the clip on Substack here.

Co-produced by Ben Lumsdaine, Nature’s Pill explores themes of love, relationships and the human experience via indie and alternative sounds.

Speaking about the record, Krauter says, "We take that stuff and almost write in a fictional, hypothetical frame of mind. The songs capture romantic frustration and neurotic desire and the melodrama that ensues from simply being a person with emotions experiencing relationships and inner turmoil. But it’s embellished—nothing we do is overly confessional."

Comprising vocalists and guitarist Krauter and Pitchkites alongside guitarist Dimitri Morris, bassist Mitch Collins and drummer Conner Host, Wishy have quietly gone about their business over the past five years, cultivating a global fanbase who resonate with the band's material.

"Being in an indie band feels bizarre when the world is on fire," Krauter concludes. "What can you do at the end of the day other than carve out some space – at the very least I have my imagination, and I can invite others to join me there. At a certain point you need to say fuck it and roll with it."

To celebrate the release of Nature's Pill, Wishy have announced a run of headline North American dates following a busy US tour run with The Beths and Beach Bunny.
