New York’s Postmodern Jukebox are making their Australian and New Zealand return in 2026 with a run of headline shows across June and July.
Founded by New York-based pianist Scott Bradlee, the musical collective is known for transforming classic hit songs into jazz and swing creations, with the group comprising singers, dancers and instrumentalists.
“In the midst of the AI hype all around us, some folks have gone so far as to proclaim that in the not-so-distant future, all of the music that we listen to will be AI-generated – we’ll gladly take the other side of that wager,” says PMJ founder and arranger Bradlee.
“We’re humbly presenting our own unique vision of a spectacular future; one that is built upon the timeless musical genres of the past and the authentically human spirit of creativity that inspired them.”
Last in the country earlier this year, Postmodern Jukebox’s The Future Is Vintage Oceana tour takes in 15 dates, kicking off in Perth at the Astor Theatre on Friday 19 June. The band then perform shows in Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne, Bendigo, Geelong, Canberra, Thirroul, Newcastle, Sydney, Gold Coast and Brisbane before heading across the Tasman for a run of dates in New Zealand. Postmodern Jukebox hit Auckland and Wellington before the final show in Christchurch at the Isaac Theatre Royal on Sunday 12 July.

The success of the band’s videos landed them a spot on the Dubai International Jazz Festival bill in 2016, leading to Bradlee taking Postmodern Jukebox on the road, performing across North America, Europe and Australia.
