Port Noarlunga Blues Festival is making changes to its lineup this year, allowing other genres other than the blues to perform at the annual festival.
This may come as a surprise to some, but after several of last year’s shows attracted small crowds, organisers have decided to offer more variety for music lovers in the hope that more people will come out and support the festival.
In a statement posted on social media over the weekend, Port Noarlunga Blues Festival organisers wrote: “The decision has been made democratically to have other music genres as well as the Blues at this year's Festival.
“It is a community event, and venues have asked for a wider variety of music.
“The public have voted with their attendance to Blues themed shows.
“With some notable exceptions, Blues shows have been poorly attended.
“We hope to bring genres like Reggae as well as Blues to the Festival.”

Last year was the ninth edition of the Port Noarlunga Blues Festival, which was first held in 2017 after the Business and Tourism Association formed a special committee to grow and nurture a new festival down south.
A celebration of blues music, the festival also aims to highlight Port Noarlunga and local businesses. Visitors can experience award-winning cafes, bars and restaurants, along with a thriving arts and culture scene.
The introduction of new genres of music to the festival can only make it stronger going forward, and we can’t wait to see what the 2026 lineup has to offer.
