The Fray Announced 'Summer of Light' Australian & New Zealand Tour 2027

American rockers The Fray return to Australia and New Zealand in 2027 with a run of headline shows across February in support of their latest record, A Light That Waits.

Best known for their monster hit 'How To Save A Life', the multi-platinum-selling act will be supported by emo favourites Dashboard Confessional and Australian artist Rachael Fahim.

"We had such an incredible time touring in Australia in 2025," said The Fray’s Joe King. "The energy from those crowds was unbelievable.

"To come back and be able to share A Light That Waits alongside our lifelong anthems—and to have our long-time friends Dashboard Confessional with us—is going to make these nights unforgettable."

The tour gets underway at Melbourne's Margaret Court Arena on Friday 5 February. The Fray then play Wollongong's Waves on Wednesday 10 February, Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on Thursday 11 February and Auckland's Eventfinda Stadium on Wednesday 17 February.

PayPal and Artist presales start at 10am AEST on Tuesday 8 September, followed by the venue and promoter presales at 10am AEST on Wednesday 9 September, with the general sale at 10am AEST on Thursday 10 September. Full ticketing information is available at teglive.com.au.

Not only are The Fray headlining their own tour, but the band will also top the bill of the next edition of Lookout Festival in February 2027.

They will be joined by special guests Bastille, Dashboard Confessional, Killing Heidi and Little Birdy on select dates.

These outdoor arena shows take place at Torquay Common in Torquay on Saturday 6 February, Perth's Kings Park & Botanic Garden on Sunday 7 February, Lake Macquarie's Speers Point Park on Saturday 13 February and at the Sandstone Point Hotel on Sunday 15 February in Sandstone Point.

Artist pre-sale runs from 10am AEST Tuesday 15 September to 10am AEST Thursday 17 September, followed by the TEG Live pre-sale from 10am AEST Wednesday 16 September to 10am AEST Thursday 17 September. First finding fame with their 2005 single 'Over My Head (Cable Car)', it was the follow-up song 'How To Save A Life' that propelled The Fray to international stardom. The single made it to #2 on the ARIA Singles Chart and #3 on the Billboard 200, with their debut album, How to Save a Life, topping the ARIA Albums Chart.

The Fray have gone on to release five more albums, with this year's A Light That Waits their first in 12 years.

The current trio of founding member Joe King, alongside Dave Welsh and Ben Wysocki, return to Australia next year after selling out shows in 2024.
