Fresh from teaming with Coopers Brewery on Coopers Ocean Alley Ale and revealing the title of their upcoming fifth album, Love Balloon, Ocean Alley have today revealed they are hitting the road in 2026 on their biggest headline tour yet.
The tour will see Ocean Alley perform tracks from Love Balloon live for the first time, with the Northern Beach lads joined by special guests Nothing But Thieves and Rainbow Kitten Surprise on all East Coast dates, Skegss and Smol Fish on the West Coast leg of the tour, and Ruby Fields across all shows.
Arriving September 19 via Community Music (pre-order/pre-save here), Love Balloon was produced by the legendary Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Powderfinger, Rage Against The Machine) and consists of ten emotive tracks taking the listener on a journey through love, life and connection.
Speaking about the record, keyboardist and vocalist Lach Galbraith explained, “The album explores the many layered dimensions of love - not just the cinematic kind where you're falling head over heels, but the full spectrum: joy, hurt, discomfort and disappointment. Let’s call it the river of love - whether it’s with a partner, a friend, or family, you never know when it’ll get deep, go shallow, or suddenly change course. It’s such a force that you have to just surrender to its current.”
The tour kicks off at Melbourne/Wurundjeri’s Catani Gardens on Saturday 24 January, with the band heading to Brisbane/Meanjin’s Showgrounds on Friday 30 January and Sydney/Eora’s The Domain on Saturday 31 January. It’s then off to WA for two gigs at Freo Esplanade in Fremantle/Whadjuk on Saturday 21 February and 3 Oceans Winery in Margaret River/Wadandi on Sunday 22 February.
Sadly, Adelaide doesn’t appear on the itinerary, but with a three-week gap between Ocean Alley’s Sydney and Perth gigs, it’s safe to say there’s a solid chance the band have something up their sleeve for SA fans.
