Aussie new wave rock icons Mental As Anything are celebrating their 50th anniversary with an Australian tour this June.
Founding members Peter O’Doherty and Reg Mombassa are reuniting alongside Simon Rudston-Brown, Shannon Stitt and Declan O’Doherty for a run of shows that will see the ARIA Hall of Fame inductees performing all their biggest hits, including ‘Live It Up’, ‘Mr Natural’, ‘If You Leave Me’ and ‘The Nips Are Getting Bigger’, along with deep cuts and live rarities.
The tour begins in Adelaide at The Gov on Friday 12 June and continues with dates at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Saturday 13 June, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Friday 19 June, Wollongong’s Anita’s Theatre on Saturday 20 June and Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Friday 26 June, finishing up in Brisbane at the Princes Theatre on Saturday 27 June.
Mental As Anything are also tapped to play several festivals this year, including Byron Bay Bluesfest.

Starting things off as a pub band in Sydney in 1976, Mental As Anything became bona fide rockstars in the ‘80s, with their albums Cats & Dogs (aka If You Leave Me, Can I Come Too?) and Fundamental both peaking at #3 on the ARIA Album Charts.
With 25 Top 40 hits in Australia, Mental As Anything also went international with their global hit ‘Live It Up’, a song you can still hear on European and UK radio to this day.
Mental As Anything’s upcoming tour marks their first shows since 2019 and is set to be a wonderful celebration of the band’s career and impact on the Aussie music scene.
