It's been a long time coming, but local neo-soul funk outfit King of Spain is back with the soulful '70s-inspired 'Take Me To Marseille', the first track taken from the nine-piece's upcoming new EP.

Stacked with a bunch of Adelaide's most talented artists from bands such as Wanderers, Tonix, Hilltop Hoods, Lostwoods, Mane and Eraser Description, King of Spain is ready to reintroduce themselves with 'Take Me To Marseille'.

The King of Spain's first release in three years was mixed and mastered by Mario Späte (Meg Washington, Tkay Maizda, Ziggy Ramo) and combines soaring falsetto with a funky brass section, melodic piano and groovy guitar licks.

"When we first started writing the lyrics, we were all feeling seriously travel-deprived after COVID and dreaming about getting back to Europe," explains King of Spain's Miles Sly. "We began throwing different European cities into the lyrics, and somehow, 'Take Me To Marseille' just stuck, becoming the theme and inspiration for the song."
