Old Mervs Drop New Album 'Carparks' Ahead of Australian Tour
The duo's sohopmore album includes the singles 'Old Friend', 'Heavy in the Morning', 'Tether' and 'She Said'.

Just over 18 months since the release of their self-titled debut album, Old Mervs return with their second record, Carparks, out now via Dew Process/Universal Music.
A collection of retrospective songs capturing the highs and lows of touring the globe, Carparks was written by David House and Henry Carrington-Jones and produced by ARIA Award-winner Chris Collins (Royel Otis, Ruby Fields, Matt Corby), who was also behind the lads' #1 Australian ARIA debut album.
Discussing the inspiration for the record, House explains, "We just wanted it to sound like a band," with songs tracked without a click where possible and a beautiful Japanese handmade acoustic guitar found by Carrington-Jones' dad used on almost every track on Carparks.
Speaking on the lyrical content of the album, House says, "I used to overthink lyrics a lot. I'd write so many different lines and scrap them."
Carrington-Jones adds, "It’s kind of cool how it’s more like third person. People can be like, that's me, or that's someone I know."
To celebrate the release, Old Mervs have shared rocking single 'Adeline', with the band having this to say about the tune: "We recorded 'Adeline' on the first session of the album. As we were recording, we were actually convinced it would be the lead single of the album… It feels relatively fresh for us whilst being still very Old Mervs at its core."
