Kings of Leon have given fans another taste of what to expect from their upcoming tenth studio album, O My Beloved, out Friday 6 November via Love Tap Records, distributed by Virgin Music, with the single 'Cold Blue Dawn'.

Dripping with nostalgic vibes, 'Cold Blue Dawn' doesn't drift too far from the KOL playbook, with pleasant enough instrumentation paired with frontman Caleb Followill's familiar twang.

What's more interesting is the lyric video, which was created in partnership with The Weather Channel, the consumer brand of The Weather Company. The clip uses satellite imagery from NASA’s historic Landsat program to spell out every word of the song using the natural contours of rivers, coastlines, farmland, and mountain ranges, and to be fair, it's pretty darn impressive.

"My family was already die-hard Weather Channel followers," said Caleb. "So we saw what they did with our song immediately and thought it was beautiful. We learned they were making music a larger part of what they do, and we reached out immediately to try and do something together. They have been super cool to work with, and we hope this unlikely partnership keeps going because it makes a lot of sense to us."

"Weather isn’t the backdrop to our lives, it's part of the story. It shapes the moments we remember, the places we love and the experiences that connect us, much like music," said Rohit Agarwal, CEO of The Weather Company. "This collaboration with Kings of Leon brings that idea to life in a completely new way, using science and creativity to remind us just how extraordinary it is to experience the world around us."

KOL's O My Beloved is a record reflecting on the band's journey and the people and places that have impacted them. It's also the first LP they've self-produced and borrows from the past while looking to the future in terms of their sound.

"We have already surpassed anything we ever imagined we could do, and we've built something that is so special. I thought, wouldn't it be beautiful to make an album that is looking back on all of the things that we’ve done and appreciating how we got here," says lead singer Caleb Followill.

"In the songs, there's our families, stories from our childhood, things that maybe didn't seem that significant at the time, but the way they find their way into these songs kind of lets me realise how impactful they really were in my life."
