Canadian folk duo Kacy & Clayton have announced their first-ever tour of Australia.
The second cousins are performing five shows across the nation this October, bringing their alluring Americana inspired folk ditties to intimate venues in both major cities and regional areas.
The tour begins on Wednesday 8 October with a gig at Black Bear Lodge in Meanjin/Brisbane and continues with shows at The Eltham in Bundjalung/Eltham on Thursday 9 October, The Vanguard in Eora/Sydney on Friday 10 October, Out on The Weekend Festival in Naarm/Melbourne on Saturday 11 October, The Bridge Hotel in Djandak/Castlemaine on Friday 17 October and Summertown Studio in Tarntanya/Adelaide on Sunday 19 October.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now via jetblackcatmusic.com.
Clayton Linthicum (guitar) and Kacy Anderson (vocals) began writing songs together almost 15 years ago in rural Saskatchewan.
Introduced to music at a young age by Kacy’s paternal grandfather, the duo’s timeless sound incorporates British folk rock, classic Americana and traditional folk.
Releasing their self-titled debut album in 2011, it was 2015’s Strange Country that helped Kacy & Clayton break through. A tour with Wilco led to Jeff Tweedy producing the band’s next two releases, The Siren's Song (2017) and Carrying On (2019), with their most recent album, 2020’s Plastic Bouquet, a collaborative project with Marlon Williams.
Although they’ve been quiet on the new music front since then, Kacy & Clayton continue to tour extensively throughout North America and Europe and are excited to finally make the trip Down Under this October.
Catch Kacy & Clayton at Summertown Studios on Sunday 19 October. Tickets on sale now via humanitix.com.
